Hackjaw
Hackjaw is a wolverine and Lynxley Holdings' chief enforcer in We Can Fix Pawbert. He is introduced in "The Blacklist", where he goes out a fourteenth-floor window while a ZPD tactical team arrests Samuel Fureed at his shredder. Intelligence seized in that raid puts him at a Vine Street warehouse in the Canal District, and he is taken there the following night.
"I know you're watching, Pawbert. You're dead. Every one of us has your picture. It's just a matter of time." โ Hackjaw, to a body cam during his arrest ("The Blacklist")
Background
Hackjaw served as the primary muscle and enforcement arm of Lynxley Holdings. His role involved intimidation, physical violence, and coordinating bounty operations against threats to the Lynxley empire. As chief enforcer he worked through the network rather than beside it: orders from Milton reached the enforcement tier through lieutenants, never directly.
Personality
Hackjaw is aggressive, threatening, and unsubtle. Unlike the network's financial operatives who work through paperwork and shell companies, Hackjaw operates through direct intimidation and violence. Even after capture, he continues to threaten Pawbert and attempts to escalate the bounty on his head.
Series History
Season 1
S01E02 "The Blacklist"
Hackjaw spends the night of the ZPD raid standing over Samuel Fureed at the window of the accountant's office, there to make sure the shredding gets finished. When the door comes in he is already on the sill, and he takes the fire escape down fourteen floors while the tactical team is still clearing the room.
Pawbert names him at the debriefing the next day: the wolverine who went out the back window is the enforcer Milton used for problems that needed to stop being problems. The warehouse address comes out of the intelligence seized in that same raid. Pawbert rides the surveillance van for the raid and warns the teams that the canal-side loading dock the building plans show as sealed was never sealed, because his family paid to keep it that way on paper. Hackjaw runs for that dock during the breach, injures two officers in the doorway, and is pinned there.
Dragged toward the transport, he finds a body cam and speaks through it to the lynx he knows is watching. That night, in a detention facility meeting room, he passes his lawyer a note asking for the bounty on Pawbert to be doubled, and tells him he has no interest in making bail.
Key Relationships
Pawbert Pawthorne
Pawbert put Hackjaw's name in front of investigators and called the exit he ran for, and Hackjaw answers in kind: a threat delivered to a camera he knows Pawbert is watching, then a note to his lawyer asking for the price on Pawbert's head to be raised.
Milton Lynxley
As chief enforcer, Hackjaw served as Milton's direct instrument of violence and intimidation, one of the lieutenants through whom Milton's orders reached the lower tiers of the network.
Samuel Fureed
Hackjaw is in Fureed's office on the night of the raid as supervision rather than company. His job is to see that the accountant destroys everything and to remind him, if his resolve wavers, what the family does with mammals it no longer needs.
