Hector is introduced in "First Day", dropping into the empty seat beside Pawbert before Dr. Dillamond's class, extending a paw, and admitting within three sentences that he recognized Pawbert from the news and that he talks too much. He is coming to Social Work from public health, and he turns up again that afternoon in the same project group. In the group's first brainstorm it is Hector who raises the Rainforest District and its three canopy levels, laying out how the expensive, unreliable elevators strand the mammals who live lowest.
In "Case Study", Hector checks in on Pawbert mid-class after the Snarlbucks speech — "That was intense. What you said." / "Good intense. Just... intense." — and walks him out afterward, admitting he had expected Pawbert to let Snorton's remark slide. At the library study session he brings the healthcare utilization gap and offers community input from his uncle's ground-level food truck, then volunteers to arrange the interview.
In "Radio Silence", he presents community interview data on elevator pricing patterns and is the one who notices Pawbert has not been listening, asking him quietly whether everything is okay.

In "Departure", Hector is among the friends who fill Pawthorne Mansion for what Pawbert had described as a casual gathering. The GYU contingent claims the library, and Hector settles into one of the armchairs, looking slightly overwhelmed by the grandeur and by the sheer number of books, asking whether anyone has actually read all of them while Maya points out that a library is supposed to have books in it.
In "Always", he attends Pawbert and Luther's wedding with Maya and Jun, the three of them clustered near the entrance and looking out of place among the older guests. Hector is the one who says out loud what all three are thinking — that he is not sure they know anyone in the room.
