Christopher Diaz is a gray wolf pup and the son of Eddie Diaz, a firefighter at Station 118, in We Can Fix Pawbert. He appears once, by video call, at the dinner the station puts on for Pawbert and the officers escorting him.

Series History

Season 1

Christopher appears in "Station 118". The meal at the firehouse has reached the stage where nobody is in a hurry to leave the table when Eddie's phone lights up beside his plate and a video call connects. Christopher waves from the screen with crutches propped against the wall behind him, and the first thing he wants to know is whether his father saved anybody that day. Eddie turns the phone so his son can wave at the table, and the table waves back โ€” Luther included, with a reserved half-wave that gives him away. A voice off-screen calls Christopher back to his homework, the call ends, and the room is a degree warmer than it was.

Pawbert watches the whole thing from two chairs down and feels something he cannot name yet, closer to recognition than to envy: a shape of family he had been told was reserved for other mammals, turning up on an ordinary weeknight in a firehouse dining room. Nick catches the look from across the table, asks whether he is jealous, and tells him he has something similar of his own, only newer.

W-Series

In "The Call" he is grown and in a nightclub on a Saturday night when his father calls from a fire-station bunker to say goodbye. He cannot hear a word over the music, says so, and the line dies; the message Eddie sends afterward sits undelivered on Eddie's phone.

Key Relationships

Eddie Diaz

Eddie takes the call the moment it comes in rather than letting it wait out the meal, and turns the phone so that the rest of the table is included in it. The exchange is the only look the series gives at the life he goes home to.
