Kael
Kael is a margay and an Assassin of the Brotherhood, an order that has fought the Templars for centuries. She appears only in "What If... Nothing Was True?", an alternate timeline of We Can Fix Pawbert that does not affect the main continuity.
Background
Kael is small even beside a lynx, tawny-gold under dark rosettes, with copper-bright eyes and a dark cloak cut to hide her frame. On her left forearm she wears the Brotherhood's hidden blade, a spring-loaded mechanism of layered fabric and steel stamped with an inverted chevron that generations of use have rubbed almost flat. She fights stripped to the minimum, staying inside a larger opponent's guard where reach becomes a liability, and margay ankles rotate a full half-turn, which lets her anchor to stone and strike headfirst.
Personality
She reads a room in a glance and stops fighting the instant the assessment changes. Injuries she treats as maintenance items; a blade wound in her flank bleeds through a whole night's work without altering her posture.

What If
The What-If episodes are alternate timelines and do not affect the main continuity.
In "What If... Nothing Was True?", Kael is searching the ransacked office of a murdered city archivist when Luther, Nick, and Judy come through the door. She takes them for Templars and attacks, and the fight ends when Luther hears her hidden blade deploying and catches her forearm with the tip short of his throat. No Templar in two centuries has managed it, and the failure buys her a conversation.
She names the Templar Order as the archivist's killer, identifies his retired colleague as the next target, and joins the pack's protective detail at a rowhouse in Otterdam. She calls the hour of the breach correctly and defeats a fisher operative on the rooftop; when he escapes his bonds, she goes off the parapet after him — five stories into the canal, cutting him off at the base of his own fire escape.
Afterward she recognizes what Luther experienced at the moment of his kill, names it as the Memory Corridor from the Brotherhood's records, and answers the Templar case with her order's: their peace was conditional, held together by burying every species that did not fit the design. The creed she gives for it is "Nothing is true. Everything is permitted."

The blade catch reorganizes everything Kael assumed about him. They survey the rowhouse together afterward, reading the same building through different vocabularies, and she tells him the gap between his work and hers is narrower than he thinks.
Judy Hopps
Judy argues that courts and accountable process are what separate them. Kael's reply asks who writes those laws, and nobody answers it.
