Season 1: Counsel & Moot (S01E21-22)
Louis arrives with the Pearson Specter Litt team in S01E21 "Counsel", briefcase clutched to his chest. When Judy describes seeing the prosecutor and defense counsel talking like colleagues rather than opponents, Louis is the one who puts a name to it: coordination between them is ethical violation territory. He takes the far end of the war-room table for the trial transcript and works through it with colored tabs, circling every objection Louis Grazella failed to make hard enough that the pen dents the page. The drilling starts the same night: he sits Nikki Bramble at the end of the couch and calls out grounds one after another, hearsay, speculation, foundation, until she returns the objection without thinking, and then tells her to do it faster.
In S01E22 "Moot" he sets up the witness chair himself, adjusting the angle twice, because where a witness sits determines who they are answering. The instruction he gives while doing it is one nobody else in the firm thinks to give: when the attack comes, do not look at the attacker, look at the jury. The drilling with Nikki resumes once the moot ends, sharper about timing now: she is to be on her feet with her counter before opposing counsel finishes talking, never waiting for the judge. He closes it by making her say aloud that she can do this, then say it again louder, until she says it like she means it. His parting line on the way out is that if anyone asks, they were never here.
