Crispin
Crispin is an elderly gray wolf and the former groundskeeper at Pawthorne Mansion in We Can Fix Pawbert. He was long in the Pawthorne family's service and watched Luther grow up.
Background
Crispin kept the grounds of the Pawthorne family home, the estate Luther's parents later signed over to him. Along with Scalesby, the household's housekeeper, he knew Luther as a cub, and still remembers him small enough to fit in a paw.
Personality
Crispin is warm and openly sentimental — his eyes are already wet when he arrives at Luther's wedding, and he wipes them without embarrassment. He is also cheerfully unrepentant about embarrassing the wolf he has known since cubhood, trading childhood stories with a guest who wants them and telling Luther to his face that his loyalty runs to the truth. Despite his position as former staff, he speaks to and about the family with easy familiarity.
Series History
Season 5
Crispin appears at Luther and Pawbert's wedding in S05E24 "Always", walking alongside Scalesby behind the Pawthorne family. When Maris greets them, Crispin wipes his eyes and murmurs about "little Luther" getting married.
When Harlan notes that Luther is not so little anymore, Crispin responds that Luther will always be little to him, recalling when the cub used to fit in his paw.
During the reception, Crispin enthusiastically shares childhood stories with Nick, who is delighted to learn embarrassing details about Luther. Crispin recalls that Luther once fell out of a tree while trying to catch a butterfly and cried for an hour. When Luther arrives to stop the conversation, Crispin cheerfully claims loyalty to the truth rather than to Luther's dignity.
