Officer Truffler
Officer Truffler is a male boar and a ZPD officer serving in the Razorbacks, an elite tactical unit. He works as Captain Hoggbottom's partner and appears throughout the series during major operations.
In Zootopia
Truffler first appears in Zootopia 2, where he and Captain Hoggbottom pursue Nick Wilde, Judy Hopps, and Gary De'Snake through the city after the trio escapes the Zootennial Gala. During the climactic confrontation at Agnes De'Snake's house, Truffler witnesses Hoggbottom knock out Pawbert Lynxley with a frying pan.
Personality
Truffler is a capable and dedicated officer who follows Hoggbottom's lead in tactical operations. He is built for close-quarters combat — his bulk and steady aim making him effective in firefights. He takes injuries without complaint and keeps pushing forward, demonstrating the Razorbacks' reputation for toughness.
Series History
Season 3
Truffler arrives at City Hall with Captain Hoggbottom and the Razorbacks in "A Wanted Mammal" to help disperse Lionheart's manufactured crowd. While Hoggbottom separates a pair of meerkats working in tandem, Truffler takes one of them for processing, the divide-and-conquer approach preventing the paid agitators from coordinating their stories.
Season 4
Truffler attends mandatory compliance training alongside Captain Hoggbottom and other Precinct 1 officers in "Operational Surprise". While Hoggbottom barely masks her irritation at the training, Truffler takes a more practical approach, procuring coffee and making the best of the situation.
Season 5
Truffler participates in the raid on Icener's staging locations in "Fieldwork". He studies the building schematics with practiced intensity before the breach, and during the assault takes a graze to the shoulder but does not slow down, covering Hoggbottom's flank as they clear the secondary target.
In "Climate Control", Truffler deploys with the full Razorbacks unit — six boars in formation — at the loading dock approach during the warehouse operation. The full squad deployment signals the severity of the situation.
During the Frostbite Processing plant assault in "The Message", Truffler intercepts a fleeing arctic fox with a shoulder-check and later takes another graze to the shoulder but keeps moving. When Hoggbottom calls for the Razorbacks to finish the assault, Truffler drives a polar bear back with two shotgun blasts, pinning him against a barricade.
Truffler serves with the Precinct 1 forces during the final coordinated strike on Icener's compound in "Final Position", checking his tactical gear before the assault with his snout twitching with pre-battle tension.
