Dr. Doespring
Dr. Doespring is a deer and a surgeon at Zootopia General Hospital in We Can Fix Pawbert. She operates on Pawbert after he is shot during the confrontation with Clawrence, and clears him for discharge the following morning.
Background
Dr. Doespring works as a surgeon at Zootopia General Hospital, carrying her cases through from the operating room to the recovery room and handling the post-operative assessment and discharge herself.
Personality
Doespring gives her assessments plainly and without embellishment โ the extent of the damage, the timeline, the limits โ and reads the room she is giving them in before she decides what comes next.
Series History
Season 2
In "The Crown", Clawrence holds Pawbert on a broadcast the whole city watches live and demands the phrase that would hand him control of the weather wall system. Pawbert refuses; the feed cuts when Luther comes through the ceiling, and Pawbert is shot in the shoulder in the fight that follows. Doespring, still in a surgical cap and not yet named, comes through the doors into the surgery waiting room to find Luther already on his feet. She tells him Pawbert is stable, that the bullet came out cleanly without fragmenting and missed the major arteries, that the shoulder will need physical therapy, and that he should make a full recovery. She lets Luther, Nick and Judy sit with him while he is still under.
She is named the next morning in "Aftermath", when she enters the recovery room with a tablet, checks the monitors against her own numbers, and finds Pawbert awake. Asked how long until he can use the arm, she puts full mobility at six to eight weeks with consistent physical therapy, says basic tasks should be manageable inside two weeks, and warns him not to push it.
Observing the three mammals surrounding the bed, including Luther, still in tactical gear and still holding his patient's paw, Doespring starts the discharge paperwork and clears Pawbert to go home that day provided he has mammals to help with daily tasks. Luther and Nick answer immediately that he does.
