Clawrence Lynxley is a lynx and the primary antagonist of Season 2 of We Can Fix Pawbert. He is Milton Lynxley's older half-brother and the original architect of Zootopia's modern weather wall systems. Officially declared dead thirty years ago in a vehicle accident arranged by Milton, Clawrence spent three decades building resources and networks in secret, culminating in a terrorist campaign to seize control of the weather wall infrastructure. His plan hinged on using Pawbert's voice to activate a master override keyed to the phrase "Lillian Lynxley." When Pawbert refused to cooperate, Clawrence shot him in the shoulder before being arrested by ZSI.

"Everyone cooperates eventually. The only question is what you're willing to lose first." --- Clawrence Lynxley (S02E09)

Background

Clawrence and Milton were half-brothers---different mothers, same father. Clawrence was the elder and the engineer, the one who designed and built the modern weather wall maintenance systems that kept Zootopia's climate districts functioning. Milton was the business face. When their father died, Milton took credit for Clawrence's work, claiming the engineering legacy as his own. When Clawrence objected, Milton arranged a vehicle accident and had him declared dead.

But Clawrence survived. For thirty years, he operated in the shadows, building parallel infrastructure, recruiting operatives, and planning his return. He was patient, methodical, and utterly convinced that the weather wall systems belonged to him by right.

Appearance

Late sixties, with silver fur at his temples and the same bone structure as Milton---but sharper, harder. He carries the quiet authority of someone who has been patient for thirty years.

Personality

Clawrence is cold, calculating, and driven by a sense of entitlement rooted in genuine grievance. Unlike Milton, who ruled through intimidation and emotional cruelty, Clawrence operates with tactical precision and long-term patience. He views the weather walls as his stolen legacy and believes he is entitled to reclaim them---regardless of the cost in lives.

He is dismissive of setbacks, treating the loss of operatives and facilities as acceptable costs. His treatment of Pawbert reveals a willingness to acknowledge the younger lynx's strengths while still viewing him as a tool. He offered Pawbert power and partnership---a more sophisticated manipulation than Milton ever attempted---but when refused, he resorted to the same violence that defines the Lynxley family.

Series History

Season 2

The Shadow Campaign (E01-E07)

Clawrence orchestrated coordinated attacks against Pawbert inside Zootopia Correctional Facility, using his enforcer Javier Croft to coordinate prison operatives. What ZSI and ZPD interpreted as assassination attempts were actually reconnaissance operations---testing the prison's security infrastructure for a planned breakout of Milton, Cattrick, or Kitty, any of whom could provide voice authentication for the weather wall master override.

When the E03 prison siege forced Pawbert's extraction to a safehouse, Clawrence adapted. The breakout was no longer feasible, but Pawbert---now outside prison walls---had become more accessible.

In E07, Clawrence ordered the sabotage of the Tundratown-Sahara Power Substation, killing eight civilians. The attack served as a test of emergency response times near weather wall infrastructure.

Identification (E08-E09)

ZSI identified Clawrence by name in E08 after Pawbert and Luther confronted Milton at maximum security. Milton revealed the backstory---half-brothers, the credit dispute, the arranged accident---but refused to confirm whether Clawrence survived.

In E09, a raid on an abandoned industrial facility in the outer Meadowlands yielded captured operatives, including a weasel who described "an old lynx with silver fur and cold eyes." Clawrence appeared fully on screen for the first time in the episode's tag, dismissing the raid as expected and identifying Pawbert as the primary target.

The Siege (E16-E19)

Clawrence launched his campaign in E16, detonating shaped charges in the Tundratown-Sahara Square weather wall tunnel during morning rush hour. Thirty-two mammals were killed and over sixty hospitalized. He broadcast publicly for the first time, claiming the Lynxley "birthright" to the wall.

Through Javier Croft, Clawrence obtained the safehouse location. After a failed assault on the safehouse in E17, Clawrence broadcast a demand: deliver Pawbert to Pier 7 or he would destroy the Rainforest-Savanna junction. The harbor demand was a decoy---the real target was ZPD Precinct 1, where Javier personally captured Pawbert during the assault.

In E18, Pawbert was brought to the Central Weather Interface, where he confronted Clawrence face-to-face for the first time. Dead workers---technicians, security, maintenance staff---lined the corridors. Clawrence hinted at the voice requirement before leaving to prepare his broadcast.

The Crown (E19)

During a live broadcast, Clawrence revealed the full scope of his plan. The prison attacks had been testing security for a master override that would fail every climate barrier simultaneously. Milton had keyed the system to family voice authentication using the phrase "Lillian Lynxley"---their mother's name. Clawrence, having been declared dead for thirty years, was never registered. He needed a living, registered Lynxley to speak the phrase, and Pawbert was the only one he could reach.

Clawrence offered Pawbert partnership: "If you are king over Zootopia... no one will ever dare to attack you again." He acknowledged Pawbert's history---"The youngest. The disappointment. The one who loved wrong"---and promised power as compensation for a lifetime of rejection.

Pawbert refused: "I won't trade them for a throne made of bodies."

Clawrence threatened him. Pawbert threw a punch. Clawrence shot Pawbert in the shoulder. Moments later, Luther dropped from a vent as Reacher's team engaged the perimeter. Javier Croft was killed by Reacher. Clawrence was arrested alive---captured per Agent Corbin's orders to face public justice.

Key Relationships

Milton Lynxley

Half-brothers who shared a father but different mothers. Clawrence was the engineer; Milton was the businessman. Their relationship was defined by stolen credit and attempted murder. Milton took everything Clawrence built and then tried to erase him entirely. Clawrence's thirty-year campaign was driven as much by personal grievance against Milton as by ambition.

Pawbert Pawthorne

Clawrence viewed his nephew as a tool---specifically, a voice authentication key. He was more willing than Milton to acknowledge Pawbert's qualities, offering partnership rather than pure contempt. But this was manipulation, not respect. When Pawbert refused, Clawrence shot him without hesitation.

Javier Croft

Clawrence's primary enforcer and tactical coordinator. Javier reported directly to Clawrence and understood the true purpose of the operation from the beginning. Their relationship was professional and hierarchical. Javier was killed by Reacher during the rescue at the Central Weather Interface.

Trivia

  • Clawrence was first referenced unnamed in S02E05 when Pawbert raised the possibility that Milton's brother might still be alive. He was not named until S02E08 and did not appear fully on screen until the S02E09 tag.
  • His plan required voice authentication keyed to the phrase "Lillian Lynxley"---the name of Pawbert and Milton's mother. The choice of Lillian's name as the authentication phrase adds a layer of cruelty: the one family member Pawbert loved was weaponized against him.
  • Clawrence is the only Lynxley family member who was never registered in the weather wall authentication system, precisely because Milton had him declared dead before the system was implemented.
  • The thirty-year gap between his "death" and his resurgence is the longest any antagonist operates in the shadows across the entire series.
  • His weather wall tunnel bombing in S02E16 is the single deadliest attack in the series until the events of Season 5.
