Koslov
Koslov is a polar bear and the primary enforcer for Mr. Big's organization in Tundratown. He serves as Mr. Big's bodyguard and right-paw mammal, continuing to serve under Fru Fru after Mr. Big's death.
Background
Koslov is one of the polar bears who serves Mr. Big's organization. Unlike many of the interchangeable muscle, Koslov holds a position of trust and authority within the operation. He is present at significant moments and handles sensitive matters that require discretion as well as strength.
Series History
Zootopia
Koslov escorts Mr. Big into his office, carrying the arctic shrew in his paws and setting him on his desk to speak with Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. He is later seen at Gazelle's concert, where Mr. Big and Fru Fru dance in his paws while he bobs his head to the music with an expressionless face. In the Zootopia+ episode "The Godfather of the Bride," Mr. Big tells the story of how they met: after a bakery delivery, Mr. Big treated the overheating cub Koslov to an ice cream cone. Koslov began helping with deliveries, and when a rhino gangster threatened Mr. Big's bakery, Koslov stood up to defend him despite being much smaller. After the neighborhood rallied to ice the rhino, Mr. Big took over and Koslov became his right-paw mammal.
Season 5
When Mr. Big commits his organization to the joint operation against Icener's network, Koslov is at his side. In "The Message", Koslov stands guard behind his boss through the meeting that seals the alliance with ZSI โ lifting him out over the spread of papers, turning him to the window above the courtyard where his soldiers are mustering, and setting each folder down before Big has to ask for it. He continues to serve as Big's right-paw mammal in "Cost of Entry", studying maps of Tundratown with Mr. Big and Raymond as they analyze likely approaches for a conventional attack.
In "The Godfather", Koslov reports the positions set and everyone ready, then hears Mr. Big's succession instructions alongside Fru Fru: if he falls, Koslov knows what to do, and Raymond and Kevin will follow him. Asked to protect Big's daughter, his grandchild and his family, Koslov answers "With my life, boss."
In "Tundratown Requiem", Koslov brings his boss the border reports that Reptile Ravine is under attack and warns that sending Raymond with half the polar bears will leave the south sector exposed. Mr. Big sends them anyway, and Koslov relays the order. When Big stays behind to hold the mansion corridor, Koslov asks to stay and die with him and is refused โ thirty years of faithful service, Big tells him, and now he is asked to serve the daughter instead. He ushers Fru Fru and Judith into the secure rooms. Afterward he comes on Nick holding the body and reaches for it; Nick refuses, and Judy signals him to let the fox carry it. When Fru Fru tells the survivors they now serve this family, Koslov is the first to drop to one knee: "We serve. Until the end."
In "Final Position", Koslov leads the eastern assault on The Root at Reptile Ravine, rallying the polar bears with the cry "FOR MR. BIG!" After the crisis, he stands directly behind Fru Fru at Mr. Big's funeral in "Complacency" as she delivers the eulogy, then offers his paw for her to climb onto and rides with her toward the waiting cars. His continued presence signals continuity โ Fru Fru may be new to command, but she has her father's most trusted enforcer supporting her transition. In "Golden Again", he carries her on his shoulder in the front row of the relief concert for Reptile Ravine.
Koslov attends the double wedding in "Always" as Fru Fru's largest guard, taking her instruction to eat anyone who makes her daughter cry with a completely deadpan "Yes, ma'am." In the final montage he stands nearby and watches while Raymond and Kevin flank Fru Fru and little Judith.
