Tundratown is Zootopia's arctic district, maintaining a permanently frozen climate through the weather wall system. The district is home to polar-adapted mammals and features ice structures, snow-covered streets, and frozen waterways.

The weather wall separating Tundratown from Canyonlands maintains the arctic temperatures necessary for polar species to thrive. The district features a distinctive aesthetic of ice architecture, snow-covered buildings, and frozen infrastructure.

Climate Control

Tundratown's climate is maintained by the weather wall system, the same technology stolen from Agnes De'Snake by Ebenezer Lynxley over a century ago. The district's arctic temperatures are sustained year-round through this infrastructure.

Notable Locations

Lynxley Manor

The Lynxley family estate, located in Tundratown, served as the seat of the Lynxley crime family for generations. Following the RICO convictions in S01E23, all Lynxley assets including the manor were seized by the city.

Mr. Big's Mansion

Home to Mr. Big, the arctic shrew crime boss. The mansion served as a strategic location during the Icener crisis, with Mr. Big ultimately dying while protecting ZSI command and Tundratown in S05E19.

Transportation

Series Significance

Zootopia 2

The Tundratown weather wall tunnel is a key location in the climax of Zootopia 2, where the truth about Agnes De'Snake's stolen patent and the Lynxley family's crimes is revealed.

Season 2

The Tundratown-Sahara Square weather wall tunnel becomes a target of Clawrence Lynxley's terrorism campaign. In S02E16, shaped charges detonate in the tunnel during morning rush hour, breaching the climate barrier and causing the districts' climates to fail---Sahara Square freezing while Tundratown melts. Over thirty mammals die in the attack.

Season 5

Tundratown serves as a key battleground during the Icener crisis:

• E19 "Tundratown Requiem": Tundratown was a feint by Icener---the real target was Reptile Ravine. Mr. Big dies protecting ZSI command and his territory.
• E21 "Final Position": Fru Fru commits twelve polar bears from her organization to the final assault, stating "For my father."
