After three separate weather wall incidents in "Soft Target", she reports encrypted traffic spikes across all of them — the same pattern as before, but stronger — and tells Costa she is working the trace, though whoever is running it is very good. In "Activation" she reads the coordination patterns as a central command structure directing operatives in real time, notes the government-grade encryption and redundant routing behind it, and warns that a demonstration on that scale is a rehearsal rather than an end state. During "Traceback" she resolves the recovered property list into a ring around the primary weather wall junction points, and Costa sets her onto matching those addresses against the encrypted traffic she has been tracking.

O'Brian's analytical work proves critical across the crisis. During the coordinated weather wall attack, she nearly traces the control signals to a Tundratown industrial location before Icener orders a stand-down and the signals cease. The Frostbite Processing plant assault in "The Message" takes O'Brian into the field for the first time. O'Brian provides signals intelligence support during the final assault on The Root in "Final Position", monitoring communications from the command center throughout the operation. She attends Shaw's funeral in "Complacency" at the ZSI Memorial Cemetery alongside Bauer, both battered and bandaged but present despite injuries that should have kept them in bed. She later attends the pack's double wedding at the World Celebration Gardens in "Always".

W-Series

In "The Call" she is called in off shift with a building and a clearance level and nothing else, and arrives cold into the middle of a citywide weather-wall alarm forty minutes old. Catching up on the log, she hears Stiles explain that nothing in the CCC can read the plant under Reptile Ravine directly, and opens a second window into its diagnostic line anyway, without orders, unpicking a century of undocumented engineering in the margins of her console. When Pawbert crosses the floor with Gary De'Snake on the phone and Luther orders the raw feed, she has it in seconds: the plant at rest, sitting so far below the grid's floor that the translator wrapped it to the top of the scale. She shouts the hold from the Lower Ring as the count reaches two, and takes what a civilian heard on the phone as ground truth without wasting a second doubting it.
