Shaw

Shaw is a leopard and a ZSI field agent in We Can Fix Pawbert. Introduced in "Pattern Recognition", Shaw took over Luther's field role after his transition to ZPD-ZSI Liaison. She is killed in "Without Options" when she fires warning shots to alert Luther and Pawbert to incoming danger, taking three fatal wounds in the process.

Background

Shaw joined ZSI's field operations division and assumed the role that Luther vacated when he transitioned to the ZPD-ZSI Liaison position. She proved herself a capable and courageous agent throughout the Icener crisis.

Personality

Shaw is direct, courageous, and committed to the mission. She is willing to challenge Luther when the situation demands it—as demonstrated during the ZSI HQ collapse when she forces him to evacuate rather than stay and die. She does not grandstand; she acts.

During her perimeter check, she discovers Icener's operatives already in position and takes three silenced rounds—chest, gut, and shoulder. Dying against the side of the house, her final word is a quiet, resigned "Damn it"—a nod to Bauer's influence. She raises her weapon and fires every remaining round into the air as unsuppressed warning shots, the only thing she can give Luther and Pawbert. The gunfire reaches them at the front door, giving them precious seconds to reach the gun room. Shaw dies with her slide locked back and her magazine empty.

When Nick and Judy arrive at the mansion later that night, Judy finds Shaw's body against the side of the house. She closes Shaw's eyes—a moment of quiet honor for the agent who gave her life to save their pack.
