Officer Fangmeyer
Officer Fangmeyer is a tiger and a ZPD officer at Precinct 1 in We Can Fix Pawbert. He first appears on the relief and protection detail at the safehouse, holding the house with Delgato while the rest of Pawbert's detail is out working the day's operation, and remains a fixture of the precinct's front line through the crises that follow.
Personality
Fangmeyer is professional and measured. Unlike Delgato, he does not express personal hostility toward Pawbert. He approaches the assignment as duty, neither warm nor antagonistic, and carries out his protection responsibilities without commentary.
Series History
Season 1
S01E03 "The Eraser"
Fangmeyer arrives with Delgato as the relief detail, taking the house for the day while Luther and the detectives run the City Records operation. He handles the handoff himself, asking what they need to know before Luther goes. Luther leaves the muzzle to their discretion; Delgato rules that it stays on, and Fangmeyer does not contradict him. The two settle in at the window and the door, and both leave as soon as the team gets back that evening.
Season 3
S03E07 "No Time to Die"
Fangmeyer flanks Chief Bogo's formation at the Line 3 exit of Savanna Central Station during the Lionheart crisis, scanning the tunnel mouth while the rest of the line waits for a train that ZPD expects to arrive on the Inner Loop. He is the one who tells Bogo the train should have arrived by now, which is what sends the chief to the transit authority and uncovers the route switch: the transponder was cloned, and the real train diverted at Agave Avenue onto Line 5, then switched again at Oasis Hotel onto Line 1. ZPD is on the wrong side of the station. Fangmeyer runs alongside Bogo for the vehicles, telling him they will not make it to City Hall in time, and gets told they had better run faster.
S03E08 "A Wanted Mammal"
Fangmeyer works the City Hall plaza during the operation against Lionheart's manufactured crowd. When Nick exposes the shell company paying the agitators and the crowd around one of them turns, Fangmeyer steps in behind the aardwolf organizer, puts a paw on his shoulder, and takes him away without a struggle. He is still processing that arrest when the Razorbacks arrive and the rest of the plaza is worked mammal by mammal.
Season 5
S05E03 "Soft Target"
Fangmeyer takes the joint ZSI-ZPD briefing standing against the wall, the tiger's bulk forcing the back row to shuffle their chairs forward, and Luther catches his eye when he asks the room whether anyone has questions. On the operation itself he and Delgato watch the canal approach to the Sovfrost Shipping warehouse while ZSI tactical works the interior.
S05E13 "Strike"
Fangmeyer opens the morning that Icener bombs Precinct 1. He and Delgato trade a word about the first quiet night in weeks, and he is the one who tells Clawhauser not to get comfortable, because Icener is still out there. The van detonates minutes later. Fangmeyer comes out of it bleeding from a gash on his arm and keeps working โ coordinating the sweep of the damaged building, then standing over three body bags in the bullpen with his arm bandaged and giving Nick and Judy the account of how each of his colleagues died: Marconi froze, Beecher heard the shots and ran toward them, and Carter read Chief Bogo's face, got the van doors open and tried to disarm what she found. "She knew what it was. And she still tried to stop it." He is in the hospital waiting room when the surgeon says Bogo is out of surgery and stable, and he sits down hard before she gets to the rest of it.
S05E21 "Final Position"
Fangmeyer and Delgato stage with Precinct 1 as the precinct's predator specialists, loading rifles side by side for close-quarters work. On the western push at the Reptile Ravine lighthouse he takes rounds to the vest, and the impact staggers him and bruises his ribs, but he keeps firing and waves the line forward.
S05E22 "Complacency"
Back at his desk in the bullpen, Fangmeyer is the officer who asks Nick how the meeting with Bogo went โ and gets "Nothing major. Just a promotion." for an answer, which is what sets the whole room off.
Key Relationships
Officer Delgato
Fangmeyer and Delgato share the safehouse protection detail for a single day. Fangmeyer runs the handoff and keeps his opinion of the witness to himself. Delgato does neither.
