"Extraction" is the third episode of Season 2 of We Can Fix Pawbert and features a crossover with Reacher.

Synopsis

A coordinated dawn assault on Zootopia Correctional Facility by forty-plus attackers with smuggled weapons forces an emergency extraction. Luther drops the Rook persona permanently and fights through the prison corridors with Pawbert, who fires a weapon for the first time. Reacher's ZSI team breaches through an exterior wall to rescue them, but Warden Hartwell is killed covering their escape. The pack reunites at Site Two, and Luther and Pawbert share their first kiss after a year of separation.

Plot

A coordinated dawn assault transforms Zootopia Correctional Facility into a war zone when a systems hack simultaneously unlocks every cell door in the facility. Forty-plus attackers armed with smuggled weapons launch what is clearly a military operation rather than a prison riot. Luther drops the Rook persona permanently—the slouch evaporates, his eyes ignite, and the ZSI operative emerges. He fights through the corridors with Pawbert, taking down attackers with brutal efficiency. When they recover weapons from a downed arctic wolf, Luther hands Pawbert a backup pistol with minimal instruction—it is the first time Pawbert has ever held a firearm.

The pair navigates the chaos with Luther leading, but they become cornered at a dead-end maintenance junction. Reacher's ZSI team breaches through an exterior wall to reach them, entering in diamond formation with Neagley on point, Dixon on comms, and O'Donnell providing support. The team moves through the facility neutralizing threats with lethal precision. At a final checkpoint in the admin corridor, Warden Hartwell waves them through—and then attackers breach the door behind him. The moose takes three rounds before anyone can react. Dying on the floor with Luther kneeling beside him, Hartwell delivers a final warning: the breach points mapped the entire facility, not just Pawbert's block.

The extraction team reaches the loading dock and departs via armored ZSI vehicle. At Precinct 1, Chief Bogo delivers the news to Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps: both Luther and Pawbert are alive, but twelve guards are dead, including the warden. At Site Two, Luther and Pawbert share their first kiss after a year of separation—a year of wanting finally crashing together. Nick and Judy arrive for the reunion, with Nick pulling Pawbert into a rough embrace and demanding he never make them visit through a window again. The pack settles into the safehouse together, and Luther names what the four of them have become: pack.

In the tag, Pawbert wakes the next morning tangled with Luther on the couch, feeling home for the first time in a year. Meanwhile, the Jaguar reports to an unknown handler that the primary operation is no longer viable—security has tripled across all facilities and the other three Lynxleys are unreachable. The response shifts Pawbert to the primary target: moving him outside prison walls has made him more accessible, not less.
