Season 2

Season 2 is the second season of We Can Fix Pawbert, consisting of 24 episodes. Set one year after Pawbert's incarceration, it covers the Clawrence Lynxley terrorism arc and culminates in Pawbert's clemency hearing.

Overview

Season 2 opens a year into Pawbert's sentence, with the pack holding the relationship together through Wednesday and Sunday visits and a steady traffic of letters. When ZSI intercepts a contract on his life, the agency puts Luther inside Zootopia Correctional Facility as a violent transfer called "Rook." The attacks escalate until an emergency extraction becomes the only option, and it costs Warden Hartwell his life. What the extraction also establishes is that nobody was ever trying very hard to kill Pawbert. They were mapping the building.

The mammal doing the mapping is Clawrence Lynxley, Milton's older half-brother, the engineer who upgraded the weather walls and designed their modern interfaces, and a lynx officially dead for thirty years. He wants the override protocols built into the walls' original design, and the master override answers only to the Lynxley voices Milton enrolled. With Milton, Cattrick and Kitty sealed in maximum security, Pawbert is the only one he can reach. Clawrence takes him, puts him in front of a live broadcast, and offers him the city. Pawbert says no with the whole of Zootopia watching, and takes a bullet for it.

Plot

A year into the sentence, ZSI intercepts a contract on Pawbert's life funded out of what is left of the Lynxley Network, and places Luther in his cell under a cover identity built over three weeks. Three inmates take a run at Pawbert in the yard and Rook puts all three down. The attacks keep coming, and in "Extraction" the whole facility goes dark before dawn and every cell door on the block opens at once. Reacher's team fights them out. Warden Hartwell blocks Reacher from taking the front of the corridor, holds it himself, and dies there. His last warning is that nobody was mapping routes to one cell; they were mapping the building. Back at Site Two, Luther gives the four of them a name for what they are: "It's pack."

The middle of the season runs on two tracks, the investigation and the repair. In "Unconditional", Nick, Judy and Luther each forgive Pawbert out loud, and their therapist is explicit that forgiveness is not something he earns through good behavior. A substation explosion in "Collateral" kills eight workers and brings Station 118 in. ZSI puts a name to the uncle in "The Uncle", and Milton, questioned about him through the visitation glass, admits he took the credit and arranged the accident, then will not say whether it killed him. Cattrick fills in the rest in "Blood Relations", where Clawrence is finally seen. The Criminal Minds team arrives in "The Cartographer" for three bodies dumped at old Lynxley sites, and turns up Soren alive under a new name. "Return Address" gives Pawbert one call to him, and it ends in closure rather than reunion. Then Precinct 99 brings its Halloween heist to the safehouse in "Nine-Nine" and "The Audit", on the condition that the game double as a real security audit. It finds a kitchen window nobody fixes.

Shaped charges open the weather wall tunnel between Tundratown and Sahara Square at the height of the morning commute in "The Wall", and forty-one mammals die. The count climbs through the day, thirty-two to thirty-eight to forty-one, while Sahara Square ices over and Tundratown floods. Three hours after Clawrence's broadcast the safehouse itself is hit in "Foxhole", through the window the audit flagged, and the pack falls back to Precinct 1 only for the assault to follow them there in "Tempest". Judy loses sight of Pawbert in the smoke. The master override answers only to the Lynxley voices Milton enrolled, and with his father and siblings sealed in maximum security Pawbert is the only one his uncle can reach. In "The Crown" Clawrence puts him in front of a live feed from the Central Weather Interface and offers him the city. Pawbert refuses on air. He swings his bound paws into his uncle's jaw with everything Kett drilled into him and the first shot goes wide into a control panel; Clawrence reaims, Luther tackles Pawbert to the floor, and the second round goes through Pawbert's shoulder. Reacher kills Javier Croft in the control room, and Neagley and Dixon put Clawrence on the tile before he can fire again. He is arrested alive.

What follows is the part nobody planned for. Pawbert turns twenty-six a week later in "Found Family", and a camel vendor in the Sahara Square markets stops him to say her daughter works the night shift at the Central Weather Interface, and to thank him for refusing. Gary comes in person for the first time. Public defender Nikki Bramble proposes executive clemency, and at the hearing in "The Ask" Mayor Winddancer commutes the twelve-year sentence to time served plus one year, with post-release supervision cut from five years to three. "Last Day" is spent packing up a decommissioned safehouse, and in "Clean Slate" Pawbert walks back into ZCF on his own to serve the year out. Officer Kett has kept his old cell for him.

10	Quiet Room	With ZSI still working the seized data, the pack is ordered to rest, and none of them remember how.
11	The Cartographer	Three bodies in four weeks, all dumped at old Lynxley operational sites, bring the BAU back to Zootopia.
12	Return Address	Pawbert is offered one secure call to the lynx he loved at fourteen and spent eleven years believing his father had killed.
13	Nine-Nine	The Ninety-Nine calls the pack back for a mushroom shop that makes too much money.
14	The Audit	Precinct 99 brings its annual Halloween heist to the pack's safehouse, on the condition that the game double as a real security audit.
15	Waiting Game	A trace through Tempest Holdings' shell companies sends the pack into Precinct 7's jurisdiction for a night of watching and waiting.
16	The Wall	A chain of shaped charges tears open the weather wall between Tundratown and Sahara Square at the height of the morning commute.
17	Foxhole	Three hours after his uncle's broadcast, Pawbert wakes to tactical teams surrounding the safehouse.
18	Tempest	The assault on Precinct 1 is still running when Judy loses sight of Pawbert in the smoke.

21	Found Family	A week after the siege, the pack takes Pawbert out into a city that has just seen his face on every screen.
22	The Ask	Pawbert's lawyer files for executive clemency, and the Mayor's office sets the hearing for the next morning.
23	Last Day	ZSI decommissions the safehouse, and the pack has one day to pack up the home they made in it.
24	Clean Slate	The safehouse is empty, the transport is at the curb, and there is still a year to serve.
