Heist Trophy
The Heist Trophy is a commemorative trophy awarded to the winner of the annual Halloween Heist organized by the officers of Precinct 99. Pawbert won the trophy in S01E12 and successfully defended it in S02E14, making it a symbol of the pack's bond with the B99 crew and proof of Pawbert's strategic capabilities.
Description
Gold-plated, loud, and heavier than it looks, the trophy manages to be simultaneously valuable and embarrassing. ULTIMATE HEIST CHAMPION/GENIUS runs across the engraved base in a font too ambitious for its own good, and the base itself is too small to balance the weight above it, so the whole thing leans slightly wherever it is set down.
The Halloween Heist is an annual tradition at Precinct 99: steal the trophy and be the one holding it at midnight. Alliances are permitted, betrayals are expected, and the competition tests observation, deception, alliance-building, and tactical planning.
History
S01E12 - "The Heist" (First Victory)
Pawbert won his first Halloween Heist during the pack's visit to Precinct 99, and he won it by watching. He spent the evening at the edge of the bullpen reading the objects rather than the mammals: Rosa compensating for the weight of her trophy by the wrong amount, a faint wobble at the rim of the one Holt eventually took off her, the mirrors around Gina's display case set out with a symmetry too neat to be anything but staging. Every trophy in play that night was a decoy. The real one never left the case, sitting under a false bottom of the kind his own family had used to hide things in plain sight, and he said so with minutes left on the clock.
His victory shocked the veteran heist participants and marked a turning point in Pawbert's self-image, proof that his abilities could serve something other than harm. Holt crossed the bullpen afterward and offered his trunk, and Pawbert shook it without waiting for the catch he had spent his life expecting.
The trophy became one of Pawbert's most treasured possessions, representing joy, play, and acceptance by mammals who had no reason to welcome him.
S01E24 - Intake
When Pawbert was processed into Zootopia Correctional Facility following his conviction, the heist trophy was stored with his other personal effects, including the green sweater, Maddie's card, and other corkboard items.
S02E14 - "The Audit" (First Defense)
The second heist took place at Site Two, with Precinct 99 traveling to the safehouse. Captain Holt officially reframed the heist as a "security audit," with any vulnerability found to be disclosed to the pack immediately rather than held until midnight. Pawbert successfully defended the trophy: he and Holt were allied from the first hour, Holt operating as the visible threat everyone tracked while Pawbert made the actual transfer, slipping the real trophy into Charles Boyle's backpack because Charles never lets that bag out of his sight. Jake found it with three minutes left, then handed it back rather than take a win he had not earned.
The heist also produced genuine security improvements. Holt closed the night with a stack of index cards in his own block print: seven potential entry points, four significant vulnerabilities, three surveillance gaps.
S04E02 - Retrieval
After Pawbert's release from prison, the heist trophy was retrieved from storage and unpacked at Pawthorne Mansion. Asked where a trophy goes, Luther sent it straight to the living room so that Nick would have to see it every time he visited, and the two of them carried it downstairs to the mantel above the fireplace, where it has stayed.
S05E08 - "The Job"
"The Job" was an undercover operation at the Sovfrost shipping facility in the Otterdam District, not a Halloween Heist competition. The Precinct 99 squad assisted with the mission, which used heist-style tactics to extract intelligence on the MV Frost Crown. Nick presented Jake with a separate handmade trophy reading "BEST HEIST - HALLOWEEN" as a gift, but the original heist trophy remained on the mantel โ Pawbert's championship uncontested.
Significance
The heist trophy represents several important themes:
- Joy and Play: One of the first times Pawbert experienced competition as fun rather than survival
- Capability Reframed: Proof that his observational skills could serve positive purposes
- Pack Bond: A tangible connection to the B99 crew who welcomed the pack without judgment
- Continuity: The trophy's journey through prison storage and back mirrors Pawbert's own journey

Trivia
- Pawbert has never lost a Halloween Heist competition, maintaining a perfect 2-0 record ("The Heist" win, "The Audit" defense). The "The Job" operation was a mission, not a competition.
- The trophy sits on the living room mantel alongside other pack symbols, including THE CHART 2.0.
