Precinct 99

Season 1

Precinct 99 first appears when Pawbert's testimony leads ZSI to investigate Lynxley financial networks. A courier named Ferrick (ferret) provides intel that requires verification through 99's records.

Captain Holt recognizes what Pawbert is building with Luther, Nick, and Judy. His observation — "You have found mammals who stand with you, Mr. Lynxley. That is not a small thing" — marks one of the first times an outsider acknowledges the forming pack dynamic.

Before the squad's visit ends, Charles Boyle writes out his pancake recipe on a napkin and gives it to Pawbert — ingredients running down the page in looping script with notes beside each one, and "NINE-NINE!" jammed into the space left along the bottom in blocky capitals, underlined twice. Pawbert keeps it for the rest of the series.

The squad also invites Pawbert to the annual Halloween Heist. He wins, repurposing his criminal skills for play rather than harm — a reclamation of identity, using abilities developed under duress for joy instead of survival.

Jake Peralta gives the pack its name: "You don't see it yet. But you've got a pack now. A real one. That's rare."

Season 2

Precinct 99 returns during the Clawrence investigation. The squad helps trace financial patterns through The Fungus Emporium, identifying Tempest Holdings as a Clawrence shell company.

The second Halloween Heist takes place at Site Two, the pack's safehouse, reframed by Captain Holt as an overt security audit with every vulnerability disclosed as it is found. The exercise turns up four real ones — the roof access lock, the warped back door frame, the basement window, and a fifteen-degree blind spot in the kitchen camera's coverage — while keeping the spirit of play. Terry's participation focuses on protection rather than victory: "I didn't come here to win a trophy. Terry came here to make sure his friends are safe."

Jake provides a squad Pawlaroid for the corkboard, cementing the connection between the 99 and the pack.

Season 5

During the Icener crisis, Precinct 99 assists with the Otterdam job — breaking into the SovFrost shipping facility in the Otterdam district to extract cargo-arrival data for a vessel ZSI cannot touch through legal channels. The operation leverages Jake's unpredictable energy and the squad's experience with elaborate schemes, demonstrating that their unconventional methods have genuine tactical value.
