"Unboxed" is the second episode of Season 4 of We Can Fix Pawbert. It follows Pawbert's first full day of freedom as he navigates the bureaucratic tasks of rebuilding an identity.

Synopsis

Pawbert experiences his first full day outside prison. Accompanied by the pack, he obtains a temporary Zootopia ID, opens a bank account, gets a new phone, and visits a community health clinic. The pack helps him unpack his belongings at the mansion and set up a corkboard. Sorrel, a reentry navigator at ZRS, is introduced.

Plot

Pawbert wakes disoriented in Pawthorne Mansion's master bedroom---the ceiling is wrong, the mattress too soft, the silence too deep. Luther appears in the doorway with coffee: "First morning." Nick arrives with donuts, and the pack sets out to tackle bureaucracy.

At the ZID Office in Manehatten Union Square, clerk Mara reveals that her brother survived the wall breach, and stamps Pawbert's ZCF Release Card VOID before issuing a temporary ZID---no inmate number, no release date. At a phone store, Pawbert realizes he has never chosen his own phone number: "My father assigned them. Everything was assigned." At Furs National Bank, Russell sets up a basic account, though Pawbert spirals when asked about adding a family member, flashing back to Milton's financial control. He insists on his own account: "Not today. Just mine."

At Zootopia Reentry Services, Sorrel introduces himself with the philosophy that defines his approach: "Options, not obligations." He provides resources and subtly plants the seed that ZRS could use someone who understands the system from inside. At a community health clinic, Dr. Mato establishes consent-forward care: "Your body. Your rules." Nick's dental panic provides comic relief---Pawbert grounds him by echoing Judy's earlier advice.

Back at the mansion, the pack unpacks Pawbert's storage box item by item. Maddie's card, Charles' napkin, and the Squad Polaroid go on a corkboard. The heist trophy goes on the living room mantel---to Nick's dismay. The green sweater is hung on the left side of the closet. Nick adds Pawbert to the Pack Chat, and Luther's closing promise lands: "And me. Always."
