Season 4 is the fourth season of We Can Fix Pawbert, consisting of 24 episodes. It marks the series' most significant tonal shift, abandoning action for intimate slice-of-life character development as Pawbert is released from prison and begins rebuilding his life.

"I'm loud now. I'm determined. I'm... here. Really here." โ€” Pawbert Lynxley

Overview

Eight months after the Lionheart incident, Pawbert completes his sentence at ZCF and is released. Luther reveals his full name โ€” Luther Pawthorne โ€” and invites Pawbert to move into the mansion. The season chronicles Pawbert's reintegration into society: obtaining identification, opening bank accounts, enrolling at GYU, choosing Social Work, finding employment at Snarlbucks, and building friendships outside the pack.

Key milestones include Nick and Judy's permanent move into the mansion, the establishment of the Pack Charter, the introduction of Luther's parents Maris and Harlan, and the creation of The Chart โ€” Nick's comedic masterpiece tracking Luther's recovery from a ZSI injury.

Plot

Eight months after the Lionheart crisis, Pawbert completes his sentence at ZCF and is released into Post-Release Supervision. In "Release", Luther reveals his full surname โ€” Pawthorne โ€” for the first time and invites Pawbert to move into the family mansion in the Meadowlands. The early episodes chronicle the bureaucratic gauntlet of freedom: obtaining identification and opening a bank account in "Unboxed", Luther giving Pawbert keys to the house in "Transfer", and Luther's parents Maris and Harlan welcoming Pawbert unconditionally in "Open Enrollment".

Luther transitions into his new public role as ZPD-ZSI Liaison in "Liaison", while Pawbert begins enrolling at GYU, choosing Social Work over the Business degree his father had expected. A Deersneyland trip in "Day Pass" provides comedy when Bogo is caught alongside Clawhauser at the theme park. Pawbert's personal history with his mother resurfaces in "The Letter", deepening the season's emotional through-line.

The middle act focuses on Pawbert finding purpose. His first semester at GYU begins in "First Day", and his field placement at ZRS under Sorrel's supervision starts in "Solo Shift". A press siege at the mansion in "Front Lawn" brings Maris out in full force to defend her family. Nick and Judy officially move into the mansion in "Charter", establishing the formal Pack Charter with rules for shared living. Pawbert begins working at Snarlbucks in "Tips", where he meets Lane, Brim, and Tara, and earns his first real money โ€” which he uses to buy four green mugs for the pack. A speciesism debate at GYU in "Case Study" confronts the inter-species prejudice the pack faces daily.

The season's only action arc begins with Luther's absence in "Radio Silence", where Pawbert meets artist Mika at The Watering Hole. Luther is injured during a ZSI raid alongside Reacher's team in "Incoming", returning with three broken ribs and a building collapsed on him. Nick creates The Chart in "The Chart" โ€” a laminated document tracking Luther's recovery complaints and escape attempts that becomes the season's defining comedic artifact. The fire escape scene between Nick and Judy in the same episode contains their first mention of marriage. The infamous "The Apron Incident" provides the season's most memorable comedic set-piece.

The season concludes with routines fully established and Pawbert's first semester completed with top marks. "Full Circle" delivers dramatic irony when Pawbert's client Krazek unknowingly describes Luther as "Rook." In "Loud and Determined", Pawbert celebrates his twenty-eighth birthday โ€” his first as a free mammal โ€” surrounded by friends and family, including Gary. He reclaims his mother Lillian's words about being "loud and determined," and the season ends with a dream sequence where Lillian affirms that she always knew he would find his way.
