S02E18 - Tempest
"Tempest" is the eighteenth episode of Season 2 of We Can Fix Pawbert, continuing directly from the cliffhanger ending of the previous episode. It is the third episode of the four-episode siege arc.
Synopsis
The Precinct 1 assault continues. Javier Croft captures Pawbert at gunpoint, revealing the entire assault as extraction cover. Luther races to confront Cattrick Lynxley, who provides the location of the Central Weather Interface where Clawrence Lynxley awaits.
Plot
The cold open picks up mid-assault at Precinct 1. Nick makes a rare kill—shooting a hyena point-blank when cornered in a corridor. Judy protects Benjamin Clawhauser behind the duty desk and engages attackers hand-to-hand. Bogo descends the stairs with a shotgun, refusing to coordinate from safety.
Pawbert, cornered by a margay, fights back using the chokehold he's watched Luther perform. He's winning when Javier Croft appears with a gun to his head: "I was told to bring you functional. That doesn't mean comfortable." They drag him out through a side exit. When the assault breaks, Nick realizes the truth: "They weren't trying to kill him. They were trying to TAKE him. The whole assault was extraction cover."
Luther, arriving too late, grabs Nick's collar: "You were supposed to protect him." He races to maximum security to confront Cattrick Lynxley. Luther's composure breaks: "Pawbert is the best person I've ever known." Cattrick recognizes genuine love—something their father taught them to view as weakness—and provides the location: the Central Weather Interface, "the crown of the Lynxley empire." His parting words: "Keep him safe. If you can."
At the CWI, Pawbert is marched past dead workers—a meerkat, a hippo, a young ocelot. Clawrence Lynxley greets him and hints at needing his voice: "Keep him comfortable. His voice needs to work when I return." The episode ends with the pack racing toward the facility: "Let's go get our lynx."
