Terry Jeffords

Season 1

Terry spends the morning of "Precinct 99" curling a filing cabinet with its drawers taped shut in the corner of the Precinct 99 bullpen, drawing a grunt of approval from whoever looks up on each rep. He is still at it, three sets in, when the pack arrives that afternoon. He crosses the aisle at a pace that argues with physics to welcome them, hopes aloud that they like yogurt, and leaves Pawbert with no idea how to respond and a fraction of a smile anyway. The greeting sets the tone of the crossover: warm, slightly absurd, and genuinely welcoming.

During the Halloween Heist in "The Heist", Terry allies with Rosa and Luther and posts himself in front of the trophy case designed by Gina Linetti for four straight hours. He is the one who breaks Nick's facilities-impersonation gambit, refusing to accept a gas reading he cannot smell and announcing that what he smells instead is a heist. He plucks the mustache off Nick's face and confiscates it, noting that impersonating facilities personnel is a crime. Later in the night a radio call in a voice Dispatch would afterward deny belonged to anyone on shift pulls him to the far end of the bullpen at exactly the wrong moment, which is part of how Holt gets the trophy away from Rosa.

Season 2

"Nine-Nine"

Terry is curling the filing cabinet again when the pack returns to Precinct 99 a year later, and he tells them he has been putting in extra reps in anticipation of the visit. He sets the cabinet down, crosses the bullpen to greet them, and claps Luther on the shoulder hard enough to move most mammals. Luther does not move, and Terry is visibly impressed by it.

"The Audit"

When the Nine-Nine brings the Halloween Heist to Site Two, Terry ducks through the doorframe, runs a hoof along the walls, and pronounces the structure sound. While the rest of the squad negotiates alliances, he works the lower level alone, testing doors and windows one frame at a time.

He turns up two vulnerabilities before the first briefing. In the basement a window frame bows inward under his weight, and he photographs it with a recommendation for reinforcement bars. At the back entrance the door frame gives where the wood meets the wall, warped by weather or age, and he texts Rosa that it will need reinforcement or replacement.

At the security briefing he presents his photographs alongside Jake's camera blind spot and Rosa's report on the roof access lock. When Nick says nobody expected the Nine-Nine to find that much that fast, Terry answers plainly: "I didn't come here to win a trophy. Terry came here to make sure his friends are safe." Charles Boyle weeps into a napkin and announces he is putting the whole quote in his journal.

Terry saves his least welcome finding for after the heist is over. The kitchen window is the largest pane in the building, and he can offer no fix short of rebuilding the wall around it. Holt logs it as an accepted risk, with security film and break sensors ordered but not yet installed, and instructs the pack to treat that window as their soft point until the hardware arrives.

Before departing, Terry hugs Pawbert — lifting the lynx slightly off the ground in the process — and offers a characteristically Terry farewell: "Terry will think of you every time he tests a window frame."

Season 5: The Otterdam Heist and Wedding

Terry returns with the Nine-Nine for the Otterdam data heist in "The Job", serving as extraction vehicle driver alongside Pawbert. His role places him on external perimeter duty, leading to a memorable sequence where he attempts to evade a patrol vehicle by driving in circles — ending up exactly one parking lot over from where he started. Back at the mansion afterward he accepts Jake's veggieball tournament with a roared "TERRY ACCEPTS THIS CHALLENGE!" and spends the rest of the night declaring himself veggieball champion, adding to the Nine-Nine chaos that fills Pawthorne Mansion. He departs with the squad in "Departure", hauling three bags and a cooler of emergency provisions to the vehicle for a twenty-minute drive because Terry does not take chances with nutrition, and calling his fourteen-to-twelve win over Charles out the window on the way.

Terry returns with the Nine-Nine for the assault on The Root in "Final Position", riding in the larger of the squad's two cruisers with Holt — the two biggest mammals in the precinct sharing the bigger vehicle — and stepping out to check weapons in a silence that has none of the precinct's usual noise in it. The Nine-Nine hold the outer perimeter for the operation.

Terry attends the double wedding in "Always", where his role involves steering an emotional Charles away from collision with flower arrangements and keeping a supply of handkerchiefs on standby for Charles's happy tears.
